Our third-party liability insurance covers damage caused to third parties with the rental vehicle and complies with EU standards:
Personal injury: up to €1,300,000 per injured person
Property damage: up to €1,300,000 per incident
Additional included liability coverage:
• Liability to third parties for damage caused by an uninsured vehicle – included
• Liability to third parties resulting from fire and/or explosion – included
• Natural disaster coverage: up to €5,000
All prices shown on our website are final prices including all insurance mentioned above. For pickups during night time (22:00–08:00) an additional fee applies: €25 at Heraklion Airport (and Heraklion Port) and €45 at Chania Airport (and Souda Port). At Sitia Airport the night surcharge is also €45.
You can find the prices on our main page – simply select your rental dates and click "CHECK PRICE". You may return the car anywhere on the island without extra charges.
Minimum rental period: 4 days for Heraklion Airport, 6 days for Chania Airport, 8 days for Sitia Airport.
Please make sure when completing your booking that you hold a valid driving licence, are at least 21 years old, and have held your licence for at least one year.
Your rental car will be delivered with a certain amount of fuel and should be returned with the same amount. Fuel costs are borne by the renter. No refund is given for unused fuel. The nearest petrol station is about 300 m from the airport.
You can also choose to receive the car with a full tank and return it empty – simply select the option during booking.
Damage caused while driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or due to gross negligence is NOT covered. Damage to the undercarriage and tyres caused by driving off paved roads – such as the off-road to Balos – is also NOT covered. Furthermore, personal belongings left inside the vehicle are not insured and will NOT be compensated in case of theft or loss.

Want to enjoy the scenery while someone else drives for a while? No problem! We will gladly add a second driver to your contract free of charge.
We deliver vehicles in the Heraklion region within a radius of 100 km, with a minimum rental period of 4 days.
The vehicle will be delivered at the time you selected during booking. In case of delay we will inform you via WhatsApp. Our staff member will wait for you at your hotel reception. For Airbnb deliveries please ensure there is a suitable parking space available.
Hotel delivery can take place between 09:00 and 13:00. If you require delivery earlier than 09:00, please email us. If possible, we will deliver the car the evening before at no extra cost.
We deliver vehicles in the Chania area within a radius of 20 km, with a minimum rental period of 6 days.
The vehicle will be delivered at the time you selected during booking. In case of delay we will inform you via WhatsApp. Our representative will meet you at your hotel reception. For Airbnb delivery please ensure a suitable handover parking space.
Hotel delivery can take place between 11:00 and 15:00. If you require delivery earlier than 11:00, please email us. If possible, we will deliver the vehicle the previous evening at no extra cost.
For the following areas and within a 20 km radius of these locations a minimum rental period of 8 days applies. This also applies if the vehicle is returned in these regions: Myrtos, Sitia, Plakias, Palaiochora, Moires, Hora Sfakion, Agia Galini, Makry Gialos, Kolymvari.
If you are arriving by plane, our staff will be waiting in the arrivals hall holding a sign with our CretanCars logo. You may return your car at the CretanCars airport parking area at any time 24/7. Pickup directly at the airport – no waiting and no shuttle.

Heraklion Airport: 4 days
Chania Airport: 6 days
Sitia Airport: 8 days
If your selected model is not available, you will receive a similar car from the same category. If you want to make sure you receive a specific model, please send us an email after booking at info@cretancars.gr and we will reserve it for you.

All our vehicles are equipped with air conditioning for a comfortable drive.
If you wish to change the date or time of your booking, please inform us as early as possible. If the vehicle is available, we will gladly change your reservation without losing your deposit. If you decide to switch to another vehicle category after booking, the deposit cannot be refunded or transferred.
All our regular customers receive a special discount when booking a rental car. To receive your discount, simply enter your email during booking and the final discounted price will appear in the last booking step.
Regular customers can also book without a deposit while keeping their discount.
If you need to cancel your booking, the 10% prepayment can only be refunded within 24 hours after booking. You can always make a reservation without prepayment by selecting “BOOK NOW AND PAY LATER” in the last booking step. If you book without prepayment, discounts will not be applied.
If a booking is made without prepayment and incorrect information is provided or we are unable to contact you by email or phone, the booking may be cancelled.

A deposit is not mandatory. You may book without prepayment and pay the total amount upon pickup. Payment can be made in cash upon delivery. Payment by credit or debit card is also possible. Credit card is not required.
If the booking is made less than 3 days before pickup, booking can only be completed without prepayment. The full amount is payable upon pickup. Discounts and special offers do not apply in this case.

- Secure processing includes SSL encryption, access control and industry-standard security compliance.
- Payments are processed via WorldLine and Eurobank as independent controllers. Google Analytics is used with anonymized IPs.
- In case of a data breach, users will be notified within 72 hours via email and an official notice on our website.
7. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellation requests must be sent at least 30 days before booking to info@cretancars.gr.
- Refunds are only possible within 24 hours after payment and subject to a 5% processing fee.
- Any vehicle can always be booked without prepayment, with full payment upon pickup.
- Refunds are processed within 30 days to the original payment method.
